LUTCHER — St. James Parish Hospital is proud to announce the 2021-2022 Employees of the Fourth Quarter, Jared Laiche, information systems technician, and Ryan Michel, RN. Both employees were nominated by fellow staff and chosen by the Executive Leadership Team for their dedication to the hospital.

Jared graduated from Lutcher High School in 2000 and earned his associates degree from ITT Technical College in electronics technology. He has served for 11 years in the hospital’s IT Department as an Information Systems Technician.

Jared was nominated by Cathy Rizzuto, executive secretary and medical staff coordinator.

Cathy nominated Jared for his hard work during the hospital’s migration to its new electronic health record.

“During the beginning of the conversion, the hospital’s ER physicians had issues with electronically prescribing medications. Jared researched and designed an incredibly practical, flexible and easy solution for the ER doctors,” said Cathy.

“This helped to get all of the ER Physicians set up quickly in the system. Hats off to Jared for going the extra mile in researching and implementing this great solution.”

Jared commented, “I’m honored to have been selected for this award and would like to share a huge ‘thank you’ to the rest of our IT Department.

“Without their help, guidance and knowledge, being able to reach goals like this would not be possible,” said Jared.

Ryan attended Lutcher High School and graduated from Our Lady of the Lake Nursing School in 2003. He has nearly 20 years of nursing experience and has 14.5 years of service as a Registered Nurse at St. James Parish Hospital. Ryan currently works in the hospital’s Emergency Department.

Ryan was nominated by Shannon Jackson, patient access specialist, who stated, “The very first time I met this employee, I knew he had a special gift.”

“Ryan is a loyal coworker and a tremendous friend. He is dependable and reliable. He is always willing to help his coworkers out whenever he can. His smile always brightens up the patient’s day, especially the sweet elderly patients who frequently ask for him by name. He gives 100% every time he crosses the doorway,” said Shannon.

Ryan responded, “I truly enjoy working at St. James Parish Hospital. I work with a wonderful group of people that are dedicated to providing the best care for our patients.”

St. James Parish Hospital congratulates both employees for their dedication to the hospital’s mission of providing excellent, quality and compassionate healthcare.
