Kenner Police investigate hit and run, finds unrelated murder

Kenner – On April 24, 2022, at 11:30 PM, Kenner Police were dispatched to the 3100 block of Marietta Street, Kenner, in attempt to locate the registered owner of a vehicle that was involved in a hit and run in Jefferson Parish.
Officers arrived at the residence, knocked on the door and spoke with Joshua Chambers, 28, Kenner. When officers asked to speak to Cora Chambers, the registered owner of the vehicle, Joshua Chambers advised officers that Cora was his mother and that he killed her.
Officers located the body of Cora Chambers, 55, Kenner, and the murder weapon, in the residence.
Joshua Chambers, who has a history of mental illness, provided a detailed statement admitting to the murder. He also admitted to being the driver of the vehicle involved in the hit and run.
Joshua Chambers was charged with Second Degree Murder.
