Round 1 softball playoffs results: Lady Rebels advance to quarterfinals

RESERVE — Ranked No. 3 in Division IV, the Riverside Academy softball teams defeated No. 14 Ouachita Christian 14-4 to advance to the quarterfinals.
Junior Lea St. Pierre went two for three and had the final RBI to seal the regional round win on Tuesday evening. Sophomore Amber Palermo earned the win at the mound, striking out four.
The Riverside Academy softball team celebrates a record-breaking 52 home runs and counting for the 2022 season.
Riverside Academy now has a 28-6 season record. This month, the girls shattered the 2017 record for home runs in a single season with 52 and counting.
The Lady Rebels will host No. 6 Cedar Creek at 5 p.m. Friday, April 22.
West St. John was not as lucky in round one of the Class 1A softball playoffs. The Lady Rams lost to Centerville 25-35 across five innings Tuesday evening. The Louisiana Prep Scoreboard reported 49 walks and 20 HBP (hit by pitch).
