Descendants Project offers free film training, community events

WALLACE — The Descendants Project invites the community to discover more about Louisiana’s billion-dollar film industry through free virtual training.

No experience is needed to participate in the free Film Industry 101 Virtual Seminar at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19.

This introductory meeting will present an overview of career paths including costuming, gaffer and electric, locations and more. The Descendants Project is also sponsoring a “We love Wallace” community clean-up and free crawfish boil on Sunday, April 24 at the Wallace Bridge Park, located at 114 Karlstein Road.

In celebration of Earth Day, this event will feature food, snoballs, music, raffle prizes, line dancing and more. The Clean Up will take place from 10 a.m. to noon, while the crawfish boil will take place from 1 to 4 p.m.
