SJSO hosts 7th annual Kids Fishing Camp

NORCO — The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office will host the seventh annual kids fishing camp from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at the Bonnet Carre Spillway Boat Launch in Norco (U.S. 61 @ East Levee Spillway).

Children ages 8 to 15 may attend. Rod, reels and baits will be provided. Children may bring their own gear and tackle. Lunch will also be provided.

Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and must be supervised during the event. Anyone fishing, ages 16 or older, is required to have a valid Louisiana fishing license.

The fishing camp is sponsored by St. John Parish Government, the St. John Parish School Board, Cabelas, Armstrong’s Crickets, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., Upsilon Mu Zeta Chapter/The Doves of Peace, St. Charles Parish Parks & Recreation, Denka Performance Elastomer and Dupont.
