LaPlace Couple Face Child Abuse Charges

Joshua and Shelby Vickers of LaPlace were arrested April 4, 2022 and face several child abuse charges after detectives began an investigation in March.
On March 13, 2022 juvenile detectives received a complaint of allegations of child sexual abuse. During the course of the investigation, detectives obtained evidence that Joshua Vickers, 33, had engaged in sexual contact with a juvenile, and Shelby Vickers, 25, was an accessory to this activity.
Following the investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for Joshua and Shelby Vickers’ arrest. Due to the nature of this investigation involving a juvenile, no further details will be released.
Shelby Vickers was booked for cruelty to juveniles – with force/violence (felony); obstruction of justice (felony), failure to report the commission of certain felonies (felony); abuse of children; missing or abused children; reports; immunity; central registry; investigations; definitions; waiver of privilege (felony); accessory to first degree rape (felony) two counts. She is being held in custody in lieu of a $260,000 bond.
Joshua Vickers was booked for indecent behavior with juveniles (felony) (sex offense registration required; two counts of first degree rape. He is being held in custody in lieu of a $530,000 bond.
