St. James Sheriff’s Office investigates Gramercy shooting; 2 shot

On Sunday, April 3, 2022 around 8:56 pm, the Gramercy Police Department and the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the area near North Mobile Lane in Gramercy regarding multiple shots being fired. Officers discovered two individuals had been shot. The first victim was a 23-year-old male and the second victim was a two year old female. The adult male was treated at the hospital and released. The juvenile female suffered two gun shot wounds one to each leg. She is still in the hospital in stable condition.
The adult victim stated as he was getting into his vehicle located on Mobile Lane, an unknown suspect began firing at the vehicle. Inside the vehicle was the adult victim’s girlfriend and three children: 2 year old victim, 3 year old male, and a 4 month old female. Only the adult male and one juvenile were injured.
