St. John Parish schools releasing early Wednesday in advance of severe weather

LAPLACE — Due to projected inclement weather Wednesday afternoon, all St. John the Baptist Public Schools will be releasing students two hours early following the “Early Release” schedule, which can also be accessed on the district’s website using this link: https://3.files.edl.io/…/194957-8830cf3a-4393-47a0-9266…
St. John Parish Public Schools announced that Central Office/Maintenance will close at 2:15 p.m. All SJBP after-school activities and the community forum scheduled at Emily C. Watkins are canceled.
Private schools 
Information regarding individual private/parochial schools will be compiled as it becomes available.
Riverside Academy 
Due to the potential for severe weather, Riverside Academy will have an early dismissal on Wednesday, March 30. The timing included for potential strong winds is during normal dismissal time; early dismissal will ensure all students and staff safely return home. Lunch will be served. Pre-K and Kindergarten students will dismiss at 11:50 a.m., Elementary students at 11:55 a.m., and Middle and High school at noon. All after school activities are canceled.
St. Charles Catholic
SCC will have an early release today, March 30, due to the severe weather potential. The safety of our Comet family is of most importance. Therefore, due to the forecasted severe weather during dismissal time, SCC will release early today, March 30, 2022 at 1:37 p.m. We will have shortened afternoon classes.
There will be no after-school activities. All students must be picked up from campus by 2:07 p.m. The building will be locked, and there will be no after school supervision. Your cooperation and understanding is appreciated.

After care following the school day on March 30 will not be available due to the threat of severe weather.
