Luke M. Ghergich, Jr., passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the age of 89.  He has since reunited in heaven with his loving wife of over 63 ½ years, Mary Rose “Rose” Guaraggi Ghergich.  He is survived by his three daughters:  Cynthia (Randy), Belinda (Jody), and Robin (the late Murphy “Jay”) as well as seven grandchildren:  Heather (Vic), Melissa (Bobby), Jason (April), Lindsey (Blake), Jessie (Josh), Wesley (Amy), and Chad (Megan).  He is also survived by his eleven great-grandchildren:  Alyssa, Gianna, Lex, Gabriel, Zain, Jennica, Audrey, Brooks, Hailey, Remi, and Briggs along with his only sister, Marion Gautreaux (Allen), and a host of nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his brother, Albert Ghergich; sister-in-law, Noelle Cox Ghergich; and his parents, Luke M. Ghergich, Sr. and Alberta Lange Ghergich.

Mr. Luke was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Korean War.  He would later go on to retire from Dupont Chemical in LaPlace.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Road, Destrehan, LA, on Friday, April 1, 2022, beginning at 9:30am.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30am with burial to follow in the church mausoleum.
