Elouise “Ella” Clayton Turner

Elouise “Ella” Clayton Turner was the second of nine siblings born on November 22, 1946 to the union of Ernest and Louizier Keys Clayton.

She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. Aaron Shade and later served under Pastor Nolan Albert, both of Evergreen Baptist Church of Paulina, Louisiana. Elouise loved her church family and was a life-long, devoted member of Evergreen until she transitioned on March 4, 2022.

 

Elouise attended Lutcher High School (formerly Cypress Grove High School). She was employed at St. James Hospital and held other jobs in the local area over the years. She was married to a local home boy, Frank “Mickey” Turner, Jr., and was the mother of four children – Aldrena Turner, Daphne Turner, Dedra Faye Turner, and Tessa Turner.

 

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her daughters, Tessa Turner and Daphne Turner; grandchildren, De’Juene Turner, Jyeraynea Turner, Chase Turner and Jyri Turner; great grandchildren, Aniyah and Arman Turner, Aldren and Aleana Turner; siblings, Rodney Clayton, Sr. and Joyce Clayton, Ernestine Alexander, Floyd Clayton (Shawn), Michael Clayton (Marie), Uncle John Clayton, Sr.; godchild, China Storks; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Bernadine Thomas, Barbara Jean Joseph and Lugena Thomas and brothers-in-law, Isadore Kirklin, III, Losten Albert, and James Rogers Clinton, Sr.

 

Elouise is preceded in death by her parents; Ernest and Louizer Keys Clayton; her daughters, Aldrena Turner and Dedra Faye Turner; brothers; Ernest Clayton, Jr. and Perry Clayton; and sister, Janet Clinton.

Ella was loved by her family and many friends and will truly be missed.

 

Family and friends are invited to the homegoing celebration on March 12, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Baptist Church, 3399 LA 3125 Paulina, LA. Pastor Nolan Albert, Pastor/Officiant. Viewing will be from 9am until service time. Viewing will be from Friday, March 11, 2022, from 3 pm to 6 pm at Bardell’s Mortuary, 3856 LA 44, Mt. Airy, LA 70076.
