Vehicle break-ins & auto theft reported in the Destrehan area

On Sunday, March 6th 2022, just after 7:30 a.m., the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a vehicle break-in in the 100 block of Rosedown Drive Destrehan, LA.
While investigating that case, three more vehicles break-ins and a stolen vehicle was reported in the 100 block of E. Woodlawn Drive in Destrehan.
All vehicles were left unsecured and/or with keys in the vehicle.
Video surveillance from the area revealed a dark colored SUV, traveling the area between 3:30 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. Several subjects clad in dark colored clothing, are observed exiting the vehicle and pulling on door handles.
The investigation is on-going.
We urge citizens to please, remember to remove valuables, electronics, jewelry, and firearms from your vehicles each night. Also, each night before you go to bed, a great tip is to set yourself a reminder to go out and make sure all of your vehicles are secured.
Citizens in the area with home surveillance or Ring camera systems are asked to review their video footage and are urged to contact Det.
