On March 2, 2022, shortly after 6:30 p.m. Troopers assigned to Troop A in Baton Rouge conducted a traffic stop on 2015 Nissan Sentra on Interstate 10 eastbound on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge in Iberville Parish. During the course of the traffic stop, Troopers located 25 pounds of cocaine inside the Nissan. Troopers arrested 35-year-old Marco Antonio Hernandez Garcia and 20-year-old Maria Lizeth Rodriguez Hernandez, both of Houston. Garcia and Hernandez were booked into the Iberville Parish Jail for violating LRS 40:967 Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule 2 Drugs.
