LAPLACE — Walker LeBlanc, a St. Charles Catholic eighth grader, has been raising and showing livestock for six years. Walker is a member of the St. James Parish 4-H Program as a member at large while attending SCC. The 4-H members compete in a parish, district and state level shows each year to be judged on their showmanship skills, animal quality and market ready status.

Walker has had success in the show ring through the years with many accomplishments including Junior Overall Showmanship winner, Champion Market Pi and LSU Champion Lightweight Barrow.

Walker also plays three sports: football, soccer and baseball.

While juggling academics, sports and other extracurricular activities, Walker has to spend time each night at the barn feeding, cleaning, and preparing his show pigs for the next show. The time and dedication teaches responsibility, accountability and many other values of the 4-H Program.
