LAPLACE — After taking a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the St. Joan of Arc Parish Fair is ready to roll on April 1-3, 2022.

For many years, the St. Joan of Arc Parish Fair has been a major fundraiser for both the church and school, as well as a great social event for both the church and the wider St. John Parish community.

This year’s fair theme is “Game Night,” and families have so many wonderful things to look forward to. The fair will feature musical performances from Foret Tradition, Faith Becnel, Justin Molaison, Cat 6, Nashville South and Peyton Falgoust, along with a large selection of rides and carnival games for the entire family.

On Saturday, the Fair will host a Corn Hole tournament, and the kiddos will love learning from and taking photos of all of the animals brought by the Reptile Krewe. The Fair will also have face painting and balloon animals for the kids on Saturday and Sunday.

The community also won’t want to miss out on the silent auction going on all weekend. Those who love fair food will not be disappointed. The St. Joan of Arc Parish Fair will feature fried fish and shrimp, hamburgers, funnel cakes and more each day on the daily menu, along with a special food truck with daily specials, three different celebrity chefs on Saturday and a cook-off for lunch on Sunday.

Proceeds this year will be used to help pay for repairs to the St. Joan of Arc Church and school due to Hurricane Ida in August 2021. All of the buildings received extensive damage. Some work has been completed recently, including the new roof on the church and the completion of renovations on one of the school buildings, but a lot more work still needs to be done.

“We are very excited to bring back this event for our parish and to be able to offer this little piece of normalcy to the LaPlace community,” organizers said. “We are hoping this year’s event is a major success so that we can use the profits to help with our rebuilding process.”
