Hahnville man arrested for drug charges

Sheriff Greg Champagne announces that during the months of January and February 2022, Investigators assigned to the S.C.S.O. Special Investigations Division conducted a narcotics related investigation leading to the arrest of Damion Campbell, a 25-year-old, resident of Hahnville, LA.
Throughout the investigation, sufficient probable cause was obtained to secure a search warrant for Campbell’s residence. During the search detectives located the following:
3.56 grams of cocaine
17.60 grams of marijuana
57.90 grams of MDMA
402 Xanax Pills
A Smith & Wesson .40 caliber handgun
2 digital scales, as well as packaging materials commonly used for the sale of illicit narcotics.
As a result of the investigation, Campbell was arrested for the following charges:
Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession with intent to Distribute MDMA, Possession with Intent to Distribute Xanax, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Convicted Felon in Possession of a firearm, Firearm in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substance, Transaction Involving Proceeds from Controlled Dangerous Substance Activity, Possession with intent to Distribute Cocaine, Possession of Tramadol, 29th Judicial Attachment.
Campbell is being held at the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center, awaiting a 72-hour bond hearing.
Sheriff Champagne states he is proud of the tireless work of all involved which led to the arrest of Campbell. With each arrest involving subjects selling narcotics, an entire web of potential crime is prevented. Many violent crimes, thefts, burglaries, and countless other crimes are committed daily by users to help fund their narcotic addiction. By taking drugs off of the street, it directly impacts the entire criminal network.
