As the 2022 Carnival season kicks off into full gear with parades and festivities this weekend, please enjoy the celebrations with responsibility and good decisions, especially when in motor vehicles.
If your plans include drinking alcohol, protect yourself and your community by making a plan to get home without getting behind the wheel.
Never drive impaired, fatigued, or distracted and always ensure all occupants are properly restrained.
Motorists that witness hazardous road conditions and/or reckless drivers are urged to call *LSP (*577) and report that activity to the nearest Louisiana State Police Troop headquarters.
Louisiana citizens and visitors are also encouraged to take advantage of the Louisiana Traveler Information System through several different methods including the 511 phone system, www.511la.org, LA DOTD Twitter accounts, and the 511 LA smartphone application.
