LWFC Approves Amendments to Proposed 2022-23 Hunting Regulations

The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission (LWFC) approved two amendments to the 2022-23 and 2023-24 hunting seasons, 2022-23 general and Wildlife Management Areas (WMA) hunting seasons and rules and regulations, 2023 general and WMA turkey hunting season and rules and regulations and 2022-23 migratory bird hunting season and rules and regulations at its February meeting Thursday (Feb. 3) in Baton Rouge.
The amendments are regulation changes on Pomme de Terre and Soda Lake WMAs. The Pomme de Terre WMA amendment would allow primitive firearms for deer hunting beginning on the second Saturday in December for two days. The Soda Lake WMA amendment addresses bicycles and vehicle parking on portions of the WMA.
