Hahnville, LA – St. Charles Parish will host its 14th annual Trash Bash event to promote the removal of litter from our streets on Saturday, March 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“One way that we show community pride is by keeping our streets clean and free of litter,” Parish President Matthew Jewell said. “The removal of litter is important to our environment and our quality of life as we want our parish to leave a lasting positive impression on our residents and businesses. We hope that this friendly competition attracts our residents to team up and clean up St. Charles Parish.”

Volunteers can choose an area to clean up or be assigned a place to pick up. Equipment will be provided for participants, including pickup sticks, gloves and trash bags.

All are strongly encouraged to sign up ahead of time as individuals or groups at www.stcharlesparish.com/trashbash or by calling 985-331-8604. The deadline to register for Trash Bash is March 2.

After completing the litter removal, participants will drop off their equipment at the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center, where lunch will be served in a post-event celebration.

Prizes will be offered to groups that collect the most trash, and all participants will be entered to win raffle prizes. The drawing for the raffle prizes will take place at the Trash Bash celebration.
