LULING — The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is still currently seeking the public’s assistance in locating a runaway juvenile; however, her 3-month-old son has been located in good health and returned to his custodial grandmother.

On Wednesday, January 26 2022, the S.C.S.O. was contacted about a 15-year-old runaway female juvenile, Amari Self, who left from her grandmother’s home with the teens, 3-month-old son, Cameron Self around 11 p.m. on January 25, 2022.

During the course of the investigation, S.C.S.O. detectives learned that Amari dropped Cameron off to an unrelated family member at an address in Houma yesterday afternoon.  Upon seeing the news story, that person notified authorities of Cameron’s whereabouts.  Although Cameron has been returned safely, Amari is still listed as a runaway.

If anyone has information about the whereabouts of Amari Self, they are urged to contact Juvenile Detective Steven Fontenot of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office at 985-783-6807.
