On January 18, 2022, Tyrone Fair Jr. of 383 A Hwy 400 Napoleonville, LA, age 31, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Fair was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following a 2021 traffic stop.

 

On April 12, 2021, an Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office patrol deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle along LA Hwy 1 near Napoleonville after observing a traffic violation being committed. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle who was identified as Tyrone Fair Jr., the deputy detected an odor consistent with that of marijuana and observed what appeared to be particles of suspected marijuana on the floor board of the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located quantities of marijuana, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and prescription pills, along with a handgun, a quantity of US currency in different denominations, and miscellaneous items commonly associated with the packaging and sale of illegal narcotics. During a criminal history check, it was learned that Fair had previously been convicted of drug and weapons offenses. Fair was arrested and transported to the Assumption Parish Jail where he was booked accordingly.

 

Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charges, pursuant to the plea agreement with prosecutors, Fair was sentenced to 8 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
