Jermaine Boyd Sr. arrested for rape, sexual abuse of juveniles

LAPLACE — The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office announced  Jermaine Cawana Boyd Sr. 38, of Baton Rouge was arrested January 14 for charges relating to sexual abuse of two juveniles.
On October 25, 2021, detectives began an investigation into allegations that Boyd Sr. had inappropriate sexual contact with two juveniles. During the course of the investigation, detectives located and collected evidence that Boyd Sr. had sexual contact with the two juveniles, as reported to the SJSO.

Based on investigation, detectives obtained a judicial warrant on January 10 for Boyd Sr.’s arrest. With assistance from the U.S. Marshals Task Force, officers arrested Boyd Sr. on January 14 when he turned himself into the St. John Sheriff’s Office. He was charged with third degree rape, sexual battery, molestation of a juvenile and 10 counts of pornography involving juveniles.
