Christmas Tree & debris collection continues in January

LAPLACE — St. John the Baptist Parish will collect live Christmas trees on Thursdays throughout January. Residents who have a Christmas tree that needs to be collected are asked to place the tree curbside for pick-up. Please remove lights, decorations, hooks, nails and other items from the tree prior to placing it curbside.

Meanwhile, the final pass for Hurricane Ida debris collection is set to begin on January 10. Since September, St. John Parish has removed approximately 1 million cubic yards of debris.

The final pass for debris collection in St. John Parish will begin January 10, 2022, and run until all debris is collected.

Debris trucks will sweep each street Parishwide, and residents are asked place debris curbside by January 10 for collection.

Debris should also be placed away from any utility equipment, mailboxes or low hanging trees or power lines. For more information, visit sjbparish.gov.
