TPSO makes arrest for misappropriation of funds

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Detectives arrest Lance A. Thompson (W/M 44-years-old) of Pumpkin Center, La after receiving a complaint for misappropriation of money intended for the fabrication of a graveside headstone.
A Hammond family hired Thompson to create a headstone in March of 2021, paying the full amount of $4,500 upfront. The headstone was never delivered and the family became unable to get an answer on the delivery and eventually was unable to reach Thompson. A complaint was filed against Thompson and an arrest warrant was issued.
Chief Jimmy Travis reports that on Dec 12, 2021, detectives were able to locate and arrest Thompson for one count of felony theft.
Every person accused of any crime is considered innocent until proven guilty.
