Unrestrained Driver Killed in Livingston Parish Crash

Albany – Shortly before 5:00 p.m. on December 9, 2021, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a single vehicle fatal crash on LA Hwy 43 north of LA Hwy 442 in Livingston Parish. The crash claimed the life of 20-year-old Logan St. Romain of Tickfaw.

The initial investigation revealed the crash occurred St. Romain was traveling south on LA Hwy 43 in a 2003 Ford Ranger. For reasons still under investigation, St. Romain entered the northbound lane of LA Hwy 43 in an attempt to pass another southbound vehicle. After entering the northbound lane, the Ford ran off the roadway to the left and overturned.

St. Romain was unrestrained at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased on the scene.  As part of the ongoing investigation, a toxicology sample was obtained from St. Romain for analysis.

 Motorists should always be cognizant of their surroundings and obey posted traffic control signs.  Making good choices while in motor vehicles such as never driving while impaired, always ensuring every occupant is properly restrained, and obeying all traffic laws can often mean the difference between life and death.
