LAPLACE — Several officers with the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office had the pleasure of participating in a literacy event, “Real Officers Read,” this morning at Fifth Ward Elementary School in Reserve.

Each officer read a book highlighting jobs in law enforcement. They also encouraged students to read books that peak their interest because the more they read, they smarter they will become.

Officers participating were Greg Baker, Brandon Barlow, Pam Bolden, Jenni Estraca, Joseph Knox, Renata Morris, John Norsworthy, Carolina Pineda and Paul Swancey.
