Grace period approved for SBA disaster assistance

LAPLACE — While the official Small Business Administration disaster loan deadline passed on November 29, a grace period has been approved, giving homeowners, renters, non-profit staff and business owners the opportunity to apply for disaster assistance until December 14.

SBA will remain in Louisiana to help process the tens of thousands of loans that have been approved thus far. As of this week, SBA has approved more than 22,660 disaster assistance loans for a total of $1.124 billion.

The SBA Business Recovery Center remains open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays at the River Region Chamber of Commerce office, located at 390 Belle Terre Blvd. in LaPlace. As a reminder, the deadline to apply for SBA’s economic injury loan is May 31, 2022.
