Happy 86th birthday to my loving wife

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

When a man introduces his wife to someone, the usual remark is: “So this is your better half.” I’ve had that happen to me occasionally and I just smile and don’t say anything.

Recently, while speaking to a small group of men at PJ’s, I mentioned my wife and someone said, “You mean your better half.”

“No.  She’s not my better half.  She is the whole reason for keeping our family together.”

While I was on the road to destruction, drinking heavily, not being a good husband and father, many people in her family and mine advised her to leave me.  I later found out that she only said, “I’m praying for God to change him.”  Keep in mind that I attended church regularly with my family, playing the part of a loving husband and a good example to my children.  Looking back, I realize now that if I had died then, I would have spent eternity in Hell.

Because of Jeanne’s prayers, God changed me and protected me to be able to enjoy the fruits of our marriage.

Besides our four children, Ronny, Matt, Kay (now deceased), and Ann, we have 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and expecting our 22nd and 23rd in early 2022.

Last Friday, November 26, Jeanne celebrated her 86th birthday. She had a great birthday because of the love our children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many family members shared with her on “her special day”.

Thank you, Jeanne, for your prayers and dedication as a God-fearing, faithful and loving wife!
