Hope is alive when parents know what is going on in the education of our children. Districts (St. John the Baptist Parish) will become great when parents are kept in the know of what’s going on in the system.

Families, taxpayers and education policymakers deserve to know the truth about how schools are performing.

One of the main purposes of Louisiana’s accountability system is to provide assurance to the citizens that the quality of education in each public school is monitored and maintained at levels essential for each student to receive a minimum foundation of education.

Is St. John the Baptist Parish’s accountability system making the grade?

‘As One’, we hear this a lot, I have many questions that I know others are also concerned about: every day questions from schools are not answered, and not enough communication is coming out to keep the parents up to date on what is going on daily.

When we say we are committed to improving the state and this parish we must be transparent (open up).

When I hear our children are as capable as any other children in the nation then I see how our standing is across this state, as one we need to get more resources, more communication, more transparency to our parents and all stakeholders.

 

The next School Board meeting will be December 9, 2021 at 6 p.m. at Emily C. Watkins. Please come out and get a chance speak to your board member.
