Another round of the playoffs this week had five River Parish teams fighting to get to the championship. The Lutcher Bulldogs, being one of them, played an excellent game against the Bogalusa Lumberjacks to try to continue their winning streak. The Bulldogs offensive line definitely showed up again as D’Wanye Whitfield and Roy Forest played an exciting offensive game. Forest scored six touchdowns and had 176 yards to contribute to the win for Lutcher. The Bulldogs had a considerable lead throughout the game until the fourth quarter. The Lumberjacks gave a strong effort to comeback, but the Bulldogs were not allowing the Lumberjacks to cut their winning season short. The Bulldogs fought hard to protect this win and advance themselves to the next round.

Another River Parish team advancing is the Destrehan Wildcats, winning their game with a final score of 29-20. This is the first time this season the Wildcats have had a game this close. The Wildcats will advance to the next round on their road to the championship. They will play Ruston at home again.

St. Charles Catholic had another shut-out win, going 27-0 against Dunham to advance to the semifinals against Notre Dame.

West St. John also grabbed a win on the road, as they came away with a final score of 18-6. The Rams have played very well throughout the playoffs, and they advance to the next round as well.

St. James Wildcats had an excellent season, but their playoff run came to an end on Thursday night as they lost out against Madison Prep 33-10.
