Sheriff Greg Champagne reports that on Monday, November 15, 2021 just before 1 a.m. the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting incident that occurred in the 300 block of Smith Street in Hahnville, LA.

During the investigation, S.C.S.O. detectives learned that Lionel Fiffie, a 66-year-old resident of Hahnville, LA was shot multiple times inside of a residence and had succumbed to his injuries.

As the investigation continued, detectives were able to obtain sufficient probable cause to request an arrest warrant for Laron Toney Jr., a 21-year-old resident of Hahnville, LA.  Shortly after, S.C.S.O. detectives located Toney at an apartment complex in Kenner along with the assistance of Kenner PD and the U.S. Marshal’s Service Task Force.

At this point in the investigation, this shooting does not appear to have any relation to the active and ongoing investigation into the November 9^th shooting that occurred in Killona.  Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call Detective Kevin Tennison with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 783-6807 or (985) 783-1135.
