RESERVE — The Port of South Louisiana Executive Regional Airport (KAPS) will host a Runway Wobble 5K run/walk beginning at 10 a.m. November 20, 2021. Register online at https://raceroster.com/events/2021/51136/port-of-south-louisiana-runway-wobble
The post-run event will feature local food favorites and live music.
The Runway Wobble is a fundraiser for Pilots for Patients, a 501c3 volunteer pilot organization that eases the burden of transportation to and from medical treatment. The service is provided completely free of charge for qualifying patients who need help getting to a medical facility for a diagnosis or treatment not available locally.
Travel assistance is provided to M.D. Anderson in Houston, St. Jude in Memphis, the Arkansas Children’s Hospital and other medical centers. Patients must be able to climb into a small private aircraft and sit upright for the flight. A five-to-seven day notice is needed to arrange flights. Additional details are available at pilotsforpatients.org.
