Week 8 River Parishes Football Scoreboard

East St. John improved its record to 3-2 in Week Eight with a 31-7 win over Terrebonne on homecoming night. Next week will be a battle of the Wildcats as The E faces 5A opponent Destrehan.

West St. John suffered another loss this week, falling to Mentorship Academy 14-26 Friday night. The Rams currently have a record of 1-3, but that could change next week when West St. John faces Riverside Academy in Edgard.

Riverside Academy earned its second victory of the season with a 45-38 win over St. Martin’s Episcopal. With a season record of 2-4, the Rebels are preparing to travel across the river and compete against West St. John in Week Nine.

St. Charles Catholic added another shutout win after finishing Friday’s homecoming game against Cohen College Prep with a score of 51-0. SCC remains undefeated for the 2021 season, and only two opponents, Vandebilt Catholic and Isidore Newman, have managed to score on the Comets’ defense. Next week, St. Charles Catholic will host South Plaquemines.

Destrehan was undefeated after four games of the 2021 season, most recently earning a 41-14 win against Terrebonne on October 15. Destrehan will host East St. John on October 29.

The Hahnville Tigers started the season with two losses but quickly followed up with three wins, most recently shutting out H.L. Bourgeois 21-0 in Week Eight. Hahnville will host Week Nine district opponent Central Lafourche Friday night in Boutte.

Lutcher was defeated by E.D. White with a score of 10-28 on October 22, making the Bulldogs’ season record 5-1 as of Week Eight. The Bulldogs will host district opponent Donaldsonville on October 29.

St. James ended Week Eight with a 5-2 record after a 38-14 win over Berwick Friday night in Vacherie. The Wildcats will have another home game this week against Patterson.
