LAPLACE — Kacen’s Kare, a local home care agency in LaPlace, is proud to announce that its Owner and Senior Caregiver Darlinta F. Garrison has been nominated for Caregiver of the Year by the Home Care Association of America (HCAOA). This national program recognizes the top caregivers across the country who provide care and services at home, such as assistance with bathing, dressing and medication reminders, to seniors.

This nomination comes on the heels of an impressive list of accomplishments during Kacen’s Kare first year in business. For example, Kacen’s Kare was one of only a few agencies nationwide to be recognized as a 2021 Best Agency by HCAOA. The company currently employs five caregivers out of its single office in LaPlace with plans to open another office soon. “It is an honor and privilege to be nominated,” says Kacen’s Kare owner Darlinta F. Garrison, “It is certainly an honor to be nominated for the Caregiver of the Year by my peers across the country.”

Kacen’s Kare has helped revolutionize home care in the River Parishes Region with its unique approach to the industry. On top of that, Kacen’s Kare provides personalized care strategy sessions for family caregivers on how they can best serve and care for their loved ones.

Kacen’s Kare understands that each client is unique, and every client has their own specific set of needs. For example, “I know how important it is for seniors to be around family members during their aging years, so I try my best to give family members the tools they need to spend more quality time with their loved ones or aging parents.” Garrison says this about her philosophy on home care.

Kacen’s Kare would like to thank the Home Care Association of America for its nomination as well as all of our clients past and present who have helped us grow into one of the top home care agencies in the River Parishes Region within just our first year!

All nominees will be recognized by HCAOA throughout the month of October in the association’s publication and website. The top caregiver will be announced in November to kick off National Home Care Recognition Month and will receive a cash award $1,000.
