Faith-based organizations hold hurricane relief distributions this Saturday in St. John Parish

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH — Several hurricane relief distributions organized by members of the faith-based community will take place Saturday.

  • Hope & Purpose Ministries will host a relief distribution beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25 at 975 Cambridge Drive, next to the Lloyd B. Johnson Law Enforcement Training Center in LaPlace. Food (both ready-to-eat and non-perishable), water and cleaning supplies will be available. Items will be given to 500 residents.   • See what happens when love comes to town: Maximum Impact Love will host a Hurricane Disaster Relief event with music, prayer, free food, free water and free supplies from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25 at New Wine Christian Fellowship in LaPlace. Maximum Impact Love is a non-profit from Atlanta, Georgia. For more information, visit maximumimpactlove.us.

 

  • Cory Batiste Ministries will be distributing free hot meals and supplies beginning at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25 at Beech Grove Baptist Church, located at 117 Beech Grove Drive in Reserve.
    • This event is sponsored by Cory Batiste Ministries and Beech Grove Baptist Church. Numerous organizations from Jackson, Mississippi are coming to help the community. Contributing organizations include The Better Men Society, the Exodus Assembly, the National Council of Negro Women, Christopher’s Saving Grace, Kappa Alpha Si, Zeta Phi Beta, Women of Excellence, Omega Si Phi, Zoey’s Outreach Ministry, Brad Davis & the Davis Foundation, Representative DeKeither Stamps, Alpha Phi Alpha, Pastor Greg Divinity/ New Vineyard Church, CMJ Systems LLC, A-Slay Productions, the Masonic Lodge, Rivers Lawn Care/Landscaping, the Salvation Army of Jackson, A&W Gutters, Big Mama’s Bail Bonding, Black Lives Matter Mississippi, Thorosea’s Organics and God’s Grace Home Healthcare.
