ST. CHARLES PARISH — St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne reported that a truck is on fire on I-10 Eastbound lane near the I-310 ramp. Champagne said the driver got out safely, and no other injuries were reported.

I 310 at I-10 eastbound into Kenner is open. I-10 is closed eastbound between LaPlace and I-310. Motorists should expect heavy delays on Airline from LaPlace to Destrehan Eastbound as traffic again being re- routed at LaPlace.

Earlier this morning, St. John Parish Fire Department crews responded to a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 10 Eastbound at mile post 209. Several of the vehicles involved in the accident, three altogether, were on fire, including an 18-wheeler. Crews had to shuttle water from several apparatus to extinguish the fuel-fed fire.
