St. James Parish government & Sheriff’s Office delivering tarps to those in need

CONVENT — St. James Parish Government and the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office are canvassing the parish Sept. 3-4 and delivering tarps to those in need. Crews will travel from street to street, assessing damages and providing homeowners with a 20×25 tarp for their home.
This process will continue until the supply is extinguished.
St. James Parish Residents are now eligible for transitional housing by FEMA. To apply, call 800-621-3362 or visit femaevachotels.com. PODS continue to operate daily from 8-5 at St. James High School and Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
Additionally, several volunteer groups will be in St. James Parish in the coming days to assist residents with cutting tree limbs, and storm clean up. The Church of Latter-Day Saints has established a Crisis Clean Up line where residents can call 844-965-1386 to place a work order for assistance. Volunteer crews beginning deployment today to assist with parish clean up.
