President Biden will visit St. John Parish EOC, tour LaPlace neighborhood this afternoon

LAPLACE — United States President Joe Biden will receive a briefing from local officials on the impacts of Hurricane Ida during a meeting at the St. John the Baptist Parish Emergency Operations Center Friday afternoon in LaPlace.

He is expected to depart New Orleans this afternoon and begin his briefing in St. John Parish.

After the briefing, Biden will tour a neighborhood in LaPlace and deliver remarks on his administration’s response to Hurricane Ida.

Biden is also observing storm impacts in New Orleans, Laffite, Grand Isle, Port Fourchon and Lafourche Parish today, Sept. 3.

He will depart St. John Parish from the Port of South Louisiana Executive Regional Airport in Reserve.
