LULING —  St. Charles Parish Public Works and first responders continue to clear the roads and work to fix critical infrastructure. While parish officials understand people are wanting to get out of their homes, many roads remain unsafe to travel.
DO NOT touch downed power lines.
The National Guard and GOHSEP have established a resource distribution site at the West Bank Bridge Park. The site will open at noon today, Sept. 1. Ice, water and MREs will be provided. Residents should turn onto River Road from I-310 and will be directed to the location. Do NOT use the levee to access the distribution site.
Residents remain under a boil water advisory. Please limit sewerage usage, including showers and flushing toilets. This is critical to keep the sewer system running at this time.
Please practice generator safety. Set up generators in an open site outside and refuel it when it is off and cool.
Do not put debris on the levee. Please place debris piles at the curb in the public right-of-way in front of your home.
Winn Dixie grocery stores on both sides of the river are open and have water, bread and other essential items. For more information, visit the St. Charles Parish Facebook page.
Phones and internet are still down at the Emergency Operations Center. To report damage, please email help@stcharlesgov.net.
