CONVENT – Parish President Dufresne and Sheriff Willy Martin have issued a parish-wide curfew beginning at 4 p.m. Sunday, August 29, and continuing through sun-up tomorrow morning. This curfew will not impact those traveling to or from work.

Residents are asked to remain off of roadways and to continue sheltering where you are in order to remain safe as Hurricane Ida continues to move further inland and high winds begin to impact the area.

Emergency responders and deputies will seek shelter very soon and respond to emergencies as conditions allow.

President Dufresne noted, “We ask that our residents allow our first responders to do their jobs, heed all warnings and remain off of roadways until conditions improve.”
