Avondale, LA – Louisiana State Police has issued a Silver Alert on behalf of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and is requesting the public’s assistance in locating 81-year-old Mr. Joe Smith.  He was last seen on Monday, August 23, 2021 at his residence in Avondale, near the Huey P. Long Bridge. He could be traveling in Ascension Parish.

 

He is approximately 5’10” tall and about 230 lbs. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black and white t-shirt. Mr. Smith may be traveling in is a red 2006 Toyota Tundra pickup bearing a Louisiana handicap license plate H399604.

According to family members Mr. Smith suffers from a condition that may impair his judgement.
