If ever Christians needed to come together and pray for our country, the time is now. We are divided and are blinded by the hatred that now exists in a nation said to be one nation under God. With over 500,000 churches in America sharing the Word of God which challenges us to have peace and let it begin with me, evidently the majority of us are not doing our part.

I believe the reason for the condition of our country today can be blamed on the people. We get out of it no more than we put into it. It’s easy to play “the blame game” and not accept our responsibility to be active in supporting good Christian church leaders and electing local, state and federal officials who serve God.

Proverb 29:2 states: “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice, but when a wicked man rules, the people groan.”

I’ve heard it said, and I agree, that America is no longer a Christian nation.

The following is a prayer from Billy Graham which he used over 15 years ago:

“Our Father, we confess we are in danger of slipping away from the moral and spiritual values which have made us great.  We are in danger of losing our way in the midst of other vices that would urge us to put our trust in man rather than You…. Give us a new passion for justice, a new zeal for peace, a new commitment to compassion and integrity, and a new vision of what You desire us and this nation to be.”
