LAPLACE — After 1 p.m. Tuesday, the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office informed residents of heavy police presence in the area of Cambridge Drive and St. Andrews in LaPlace in relation to shots fired in the area.

Residents are asked to stay inside and remain aware of their surroundings.
