Back to School Bash, a free concert and vaccine event

St. Charles Parish Partners with UnitedHealthcare Community Plan to host Free Concert and Vaccination Opportunities

Hahnville, LA – St. Charles Parish, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan and St. Charles Parish Hospital have partnered to host a free concert and vaccination event, Back to School Bash, on Tuesday, August 10, 4-7 pm at the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center. The Bucktown All-Stars will provide entertainment and the Pfizer vaccine will be made available through the mobile Ochsner Vaccine Van.

“We wanted to offer the community a fun event while also providing an opportunity for people to get vaccinated if they choose,” said President Matthew Jewell. “I am appreciative of United Healthcare Community Plan’s sponsorship of this event and their commitment to providing valuable resources to our community, and I look forward to seeing our residents at this event.”

“As variants of COVID-19 continue to emerge in our communities, it has never been more important for people to get vaccinated,” said Keith Dacus, CEO of St. Charles Parish Hospital.  “By getting the vaccine you will be protecting yourself and those around you, ultimately ending this pandemic.”

The free concert will occur outside of the community center, where free food, drinks and snowballs will be served. Attendees are encouraged to bring their chairs and outside food and beverages are permitted.

The Pfizer vaccine is available for everyone 12 years and older. Individuals electing to get vaccinated at the event with be contacted by Ochsner to receive their second dose with the designated time frame.
