1976 – Darla Dufrene (center) is the first Catfish Festival Queen and will reign over the second annual Catfish Festival in Des Allemands. Jenny Bird (left) was second runnerup, and was the 1975 St. Charles Parish Sugar Queen. She was succeeded for the that title by Sharon Laney (right), first runnerup in the Catfish Festival Queen contest and the 1976 St. Charles Parish Sugar Queen.
