Sheriff Champagne would like the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects from a recent shoplifting incident that occurred in Boutte, LA.
On July 2, 2021, shortly after 6 p.m., two subjects were observed “skip scanning” retail items at the Walmart located in Boutte, LA while utilizing the self-checkout. “Skip scanning” is a term utilized when a subject will scan some items for purchase, but then intentionally move another item across the register scanner without allowing the barcode to be read in an attempt to obtain the item without purchasing it.
One subject is a white male clad in a blue baseball cap and blue sports jersey shirt. The second subject is a white female with blonde hair and a blue tank top style shirt. Both subjects have distinguishable tattoos.
If anyone knows the identity of the subjects shown in the attached photograph, or if anyone has information about the incident they are urged to contact Detective Joshua DeRoche of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985)783-6807.
