DESTREHAN — A raffle fundraiser and parade of prizes is being organized for Stacey Martinez Perret, a lifelong resident of Destrehan who is currently battling cancer.

Stacey is the wife of Lonnie Perret and the mother of Lauren and Taylor Perret. The Perrets are active members of the St. Charles Borromeo Church and recently received the St. Louis Medallion Award for their continued service in the community.

Stacey was first diagnosed with metastatic melanoma when a tumor was discovered in her brain in July 2016. The tumor was successfully removed. After four years of being tumor free, Stacey underwent additional surgeries in August and September 2020 to remove two more tumors. Stacey’s melanoma has recently spread further into her brain and spinal cord, and the Perret family needs help raising money for medical expenses while she is unable to work.

Raffle tickets are $5 per chance or $20 for five tickets. The grand prize is a crawfish cart boiler. The second prize is a Milwaukee Industrial outdoor radio, and the third prize is a gas fire pit.

Tickets may be purchased on Venmo @Vicky-Cazentre. Please make sure to include your phone number and the number of tickets.
