CONVENT – St. James Parish President  Pete  Dufresne  announced Monday, the launch of a week-long campaign in conjunction with National Hurricane Preparedness Week.

The campaign, which launches Monday on the Parish social media platforms and website, will provide daily information to residents on how best to be prepared this hurricane season. This includes video tutorials on how to properly sandbag, what to prepare in your emergency kit, how to find your home’s flood elevation, what to do after a storm and more.

“It has been a priority of mine to improve the information we give to residents in advance of another storm season. The best time to prepare for hurricane season is now and it is my sincere hope that residents can take away valuable information from this campaign to prepare their homes and families. Together, we can build a resilient community, and ensure our recovery time after a storm is minimal”, said President Dufresne.

Residents can find information on Facebook, Twitter and the Parish Website at www.stjamesla.com and are encouraged to share their preparedness efforts by using the hashtag, #StJamesStormReady.
