SCSO investigates St. Rose shooting death

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a death that occurred on Pine Lane in St. Rose, LA.
Shortly after 7 a.m. on Friday, January 29, the S.C.S.O. received a 911 call from a male stating he discovered his 38-year-old girlfriend inside of their residence with an apparent gunshot wound. EMS and deputies arrived on scene at the home and attempted life saving measures but were unsuccessful.
During initial the statement on scene, the boyfriend claimed that he and the victim were arguing while in the residence. Allegedly the victim then walked into another room when the boyfriend subsequently heard a gunshot and located the victim with a gunshot wound to her head.
Detectives are currently interviewing the live-in boyfriend as well as neighbors to determine what occurred. Currently all facts indicate that this is an isolated incident and there is no perceivable threat to the public.
