LAPLACE — In the month of February each year, the members of Rising Star Baptist Church in LaPlace wear specific colors to honor the different age groups in the church.

This year, Pastor Donald August Sr. invites the entire community to participate in “Generations Sunday” by wearing designated colors every Sunday in February.

According to August, the age groups are designated as follows:

18 and under: The “blossoms” wear green

19-29: The “boppers” wear red

30-39: The “busters” wear yellow

40-49: The “builders” wear blue

50-59: The “boomers” wear gold

60-69: The “beacons” wear white

70 and up: The “blazers” wear purple
