Weekend weather report for Jan. 9 and Jan. 10

LAPLACE — The weather will be chilly this weekend, with a high chance of rain Sunday night and into Monday morning.

Saturday, Jan. 9 will begin with morning temperatures in the 30s. The temperature will reach the 40s mid-morning before reaching a high of about 51 degrees between 1 and 4 p.m. There is only a three percent chance of precipitation during the daylight hours.

The temperature is expected to drop to 33 degrees Saturday night, with a “real feel” of 27 degrees. The night hours will be partly cloudy and chilly with a low chance of precipitation.

Sunday, Jan. 10 will have a high of 52 degrees and a low of 38 degrees with periods of clouds and sun. Sunday night will be mostly cloudy with occasional rain, followed by periods of steadier, heavy rain. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent. Heavier showers will mostly take place after midnight with Northeast winds five to 10 miles per hour.

Showers are expected to continue into Monday morning with a 50 percent chance of showers, mainly before noon. Monday will be mostly cloudy with a high near 49 degrees.
